By Angela Burdick See all my reviews This review is from: LG Kompressor Pet Care Upright Vacuum, Bagless, Red, LuV200R (Kitchen) I just newly bought the LG Kompressor LUV200R model after much agonizing after my old vacuum cleaner bit the dust (no pun intended). I bought it hhgregg for $220, SWEET! I has been supposed to purchase a different vacuum cleaner, but this one caught my eye instead. After test driving hhgregg’s computer aisle internet potential, I saw this vacuum got good reviews and also saw that this price was far below the going rate. Sold!

So, I take this thing home and put it together in like five mins. Wayyy too easy, we’re talking like one philips screw here.

I have four cats and two dogs. I really need this thing to work many magic. And it did.

This is what I noticed so far:
1. It is really kinda calm.
2. It is moderately heavy, but in a good way. All the pieces and parts are heavy, tough plastic. I detect no cheap, flimsy parts. The adaptable hose is strengthened with metal and the housing for it’s magnetic, kinda cool.
4. It has a switch on the handle which makes the rollers stop for going from non carpet to carpet cleaning. Cool, 60 of my downstairs is hardwood. No more broom!
5. It is pretty powerful, it can really suck! I saw dust bunnies moving TOWARDS the vacuum! I had to stand on an area rug corner to prevent the thing from lifting the rug up. Stray cat crunchies & litter got sucked up and not blown back (if you have ever had a crappy vacuum, you know what I am talking about here).
6. The attachment for upholstery and stuff really works. The rollers kept moving after hitting the upholstery (a 1st I have seen so far, typically they just stop moving and become just another part of vacuum flair).
7. The cord retracts, awesome!
8. The cannister is a snap to empty, one button to push and the whole thing goes straight into the trash. No fishing around & yanking out balls of hair.
9. There are two filters, which are washable and easy to take off.
10. The cord isn’t as long as I could favor it to be. I had to plug in two different places to do a small living room.
11. The cannister also has this kompressor technology to smush up the hair and dirt into a little compact bit, so you do not have to empty as frequently. I still found myself emptying it for each room though, out of habit.

The true test for this vacuum was my black area rug, which I usually have to vacuum like ten times to get it clean. Two passes with this vacuum and EVERY last hair was off of it. AMAZING!

Totally thrilled. Could recommend to anybody.

This video review shows the features, sound level, suction, and other parts of the LG Luv200, a bagless vacuum cleaner clearly intended to go head to head with Dyson machines. Here, you will see the Luv200 work on many surfaces. The only thing is lacks is a self propelling agitator for easier motion. Unfortunately, caused by the file size limitation, I had to cut a couple minutes out of my original video, if you have a question about something that I did not cover, just ask. UPDATE: A leading buyer magazine rated this in its 2/2011, and the Luv200 is one of the suggested purchases in the bagless group.

The major selling point for my wife was the retractable cord and that it seemed to have stronger suction than other vacuum cleaners we tested. I liked that it was observably quieter than the other vacuum we considered.

I like the big canister, which opens down to make disposing of the dirt easier. An interesting feature of this vacuum is the “Kompressor” system that uses a kind of large wiper blade in the collection canister to pack the dirt tightly. This makes it less messy when disposing of the dirt, and minimizes the number of times that the canister needs to be emptied. With two cats (one a long hair), and a Golden Retriever, plus three kids, this is an nice feature because there is many of dirt, dust and pet hair that needs to be vacuumed in our house!

There are two filters (including a HEPA), and they are both washable. The filters work well and there looks to be minimal to no dust being expelled into the air (which was a problem with our last vacuum). The vacuum is not light weight, but it is not unusually heavy.

The handle attaches with just a small screw and many parts of it do not look tough. In fact, in the store where we bought this vacuum cleaner, the display model had part of the plastic broken where the Pet Hair Turbo tool sits. I projected the handle section to be a little sturdier with a vacuum cleaner in this price range.
